  Dedicated line access provides physically isolated network links for enterprises or data servers, and bandwidth resources are 100% exclusive, without worrying about sudden congestion or jitter caused by shared links.

  Since the physical link is dedicated, the network delay, jitter, and packet loss rate are better than BGP multi-line, which is more suitable for applications with extremely high requirements for real-time and stability.

  Dedicated line links usually have stronger physical security and logical isolation capabilities. The data transmission process does not pass through the public network, which reduces the risk of data being monitored or hijacked.

  Dedicated lines can be combined with technologies such as MPLS  and SD-WAN to build a cross-regional and cross-data center exclusive enterprise-level wide area network, supporting complex network architecture design.

  Data server chooses BGP multi-line or dedicated line access?

  1. Choose according to business access objects

  If the data server mainly serves users from different regions and operators across the country (such as e-commerce platforms, portals, online education, etc.), BGP multi-line access is preferred. BGP multi-line can ensure that different network users can get a good access experience and has good elastic expansion capabilities.

  If the data server is only for headquarters, branches, and partners, and the access nodes are relatively fixed (such as headquarters and data center interconnection, branch ERP system data synchronization, etc.), dedicated line access is more suitable.   BGP multi-line access is suitable for most enterprise-level businesses. It can flexibly switch between lines of different operators to ensure high availability and better user experience. At the same time, the price is more advantageous than dedicated lines. Dedicated line access is the first choice for scenarios with extremely high requirements for low latency, low jitter, and high stability, such as financial securities, telemedicine, and emergency command. Even dual-route dedicated lines and dual-active data center solutions are required.

  3. Choose based on budget and scalability

  With limited budgets and requirements for nationwide or global coverage, BGP multi-line access is preferred, especially in the start-up period or the period of rapid business expansion. BGP multi-line can achieve multi-operator and multi-node access at a relatively low cost.

  With sufficient budgets and established businesses, dedicated line access for key links can be superimposed on BGP multi-line, or a dedicated line + SD-WAN hybrid architecture can be directly deployed to create a highly available and highly secure enterprise-level network.

  As an important part of enterprise informatization construction, the network access solution of data servers is directly related to the stability, performance, and security of the business. BGP multi-line and dedicated line each have their own advantages, and there is no absolute good or bad. The key is to combine their own business characteristics, user access requirements, budget conditions and future development plans, scientifically select and reasonably build.
